Over the Counter Medications that May be taken during Pregnancy
Headache or Fever
Acetaminophen (Tylenol)
- plain or extra strength only
Head Congestion
Sudafed –plain
Cough
Robitussin—plain
Heartburn/Indigestion
Tums or Mylanta
Diarrhea
Kaopectate or Imodium AD
Constipation
Konsyl, Metamucil, Citracel, FiberCon, bran tablets
Colace (Stool Softener)
Nausea
Anything with lemon or ginger (lemon drops, lemonade, ginger ale,
gingersnaps)
Ginger capsules (550 mg) - Take 1 or 2 a day (Available at Walgreens)
Vitamin B6 – 25 mg tablet take up to 3 a day – not to exceed 75 mg per day
Unisom – ½ tablet two times during the day and 1 full tablet at bedtime
